Setting Up Xbox One is easy. Just follow these steps, and you’ll do fine.

  • Make sure that you are plugging the console into an HDMI 2.0 port on a TV which supports 4K content at 60 frames per second. You don’t need to worry about HDMI if you are using a full HD version, i.e., 1080p screen.
  • Use power and HDMI cables to connect the console to power and the TV. Use the HDMI port situated next to the power input of the console.
  • If you want, you can use S/PDIF optical audio out port to connect the console to external speakers. It’s completely optional and often not needed.
  • After you have plugged in the console, you need to press the Xbox logo visible in the front to turn it on and use the Xbox logo visible in the center of the controller to connect it.
  • The final step is to log into or create an Xbox Live account and start playing.

Transfer Games and Data by Using an External Hard Drive

  • Begin by backing up all the data and games from the old console into the hard drive that has more than 256 GB capacity and is USB 3.0 model.
  • Start by visiting the Settings, System and selecting Storage. Then click on Internal, Transfer and select the games you want to transfer. Then press copy selected and transfer to the hard drive will be done in a few minutes.
  • To back up the main settings of the console, go to Settings, System, Backup and Transfer and choose Back up to a device.
  • Turn off the old console and start the new one after plugging in the hard drive in a free USB port.
  • As soon as the new Xbox One X starts, it will recognize the hard drive. You just need to select Load Settings and everything will be transferred to your new console.

That’s it. You now know how to set up Xbox One X and transfer old games and data.
